X-men: Future’s past (OT: X-men: days of future past) in the Marvel Universe has also a counterpart called days of future present, in which Rachel Summers also travels to the past and is followed by the Sentinel Nimrod and Ahab.
In the comic version of X-men: Future past is not Wolverine through time travel, but Kitty Pride able to transfer her consciousness into her former self. But already the storyline in slightly modified form has been shown in the animation series X-men. It replaced the Kitty Pride von Bishop. The authors justified the choice of Wolverines as a time traveler, in addition to its importance as a star of the franchise, not to grow old with his property. Just as Kitty pride is embodied by the young actress Ellen page, a trip not possible would be over forty years in the past. “Wolverine is the only character who looks in 1973 just like in the future.”
In X-men: future’s past are many familiar faces from the first part again to see. Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Michael Fassbender as magneto, James McAvoy as Professor X and Jason Flemyng as Azazel are back.
