I needed to like The Haunting of Alice D. I super did. I felt that despite the fact that it sounded horrendously unimaginatively regardless it seemed like it could be a great deal of fun so I went into it anticipating that it should in any event be to some degree good. Tragically that simply wasn’t the situation and I had a lot of inconvenience making it the distance to the end without skipping ahead to the following scene more times than I could tally.
What could have been a cool minimal powerful blood and guts movie around an abused soul looking for requital on the relative (and his buddies) of the individual in charge of making her life a horrific experience rapidly turned into a tangled, exhausting disturb unlikable characters and no alarms at all. It’s really difficult to spoil the entire “vindictive apparition executing off individuals” equation however by one means or another the general population behind this film figured out how to do only that.
